On 03/07/2023 The Caddo County Special Response Team conducted annual MRAP-Tactical Vehicle Driving class at the Caddo Kiowa Technology Center. MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected) vehicle was obtained through LESO (Law Enforcement Support Office) which helps provide law enforcement with equipment that could not be afforded otherwise. The SRT team utilizes this vehicle in a defensive posture by providing the team with a bulletproof vehicle to approach dangerous incidents safely and limit the risk of life situations. It can be used to rescue people during mass shootings by providing a mobile means of protection to evacuate people from an area without the risk of being shot. It can also be used for natural disaster emergencies such as being used to rescue citizens from tornado-damaged areas or even flooded areas that other emergency vehicles would not be able to access.
