Cameron falls in their Lone Star Conference home opener 81-66 as Caylen Goff-Brown pours in 27 points, but the Aggies could not keep pace with the Rattlers.

The Aggies returned home for the first time since the middle of November, playing just their second game in the Aggie Gym this season. The last time CU played at home; they captured a thrilling win over Rogers State, 74-71. After a three-game road trip that resulted in three straight losses, two of which by four points or less, the Aggies were ready to open up a four-game home stand against the St. Mary’s.

The Rattlers raced out to a 12-point lead, with the Aggies only having one point on the scoreboard for the first few minutes of action. The Black-and-Gold fought back to see the lead change hands 14 times, with five ties before the final Rattler run in the last five minutes swelled their lead to an insurmountable 15 points. That was largely due to the elite shot-making of fifth-year guard Caleb Jordan who produced 31 points for the Rattlers with a team-high four assists in 36 minutes.

Caylen Goff-Brown tried to answer with 27 points of his own, two assists, and a rebound, including four made three-pointers, but he was one of just two Aggies in double-figures, with DeSean Munson chipping in 13 points.

Jaden Okon did a great job keeping possessions alive with a team-high 10 rebounds, and Colt Savage came away with three steals on the defensive end.

Cameron shot worst from the floor and distance and lost the turnover battle by ten giveaways which doomed the Black-and-Gold late.
