During the first quarter of 2026, Colonial Manor II was assigned an overall rating of 3 out of 5, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) reported. This score is higher than the statewide average of 2.7 for nursing homes across Oklahoma.
The center offered 92 available beds, which was five fewer than the statewide average for Oklahoma during that quarter. On average, staff cared for 35.2 residents throughout the period.
Colonial Manor II also reported no citations resulting in fines or penalties during the first quarter of 2026.
U.S. Census Bureau estimates show the population of older adults in the nation continues increasing as the number of younger people declines. From 2020 to 2024, Americans age 65 and older grew by 13%, while those under age 18 declined by 1.7%. The country’s older demographic has risen sharply over the last century, expanding from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million by 2024.
A 2021 study estimates that nearly half of people in this age range—about 28 million—could require long-term services and supports. The study also forecasts that over one-third may ultimately need care in a nursing home.
“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
