During the first quarter of 2026, Maple Lawn Nursing and Rehabilitation was recognized as the largest nursing home in Blaine County, according to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).

The facility was equipped with 60 beds—six more than the Blaine County average for the same period—and served an average of 40.3 residents.

The CMS assigned Maple Lawn Nursing and Rehabilitation an overall rating of 3 out of 5, which is above the Oklahoma nursing home average of 2.7.

Summers Healthcare, LLC ranked as the second largest nursing facility in Blaine County, with 48 beds available during the quarter.

As of the first quarter of 2026, Maple Lawn Nursing and Rehabilitation had not reported any fines or penalties.

There were two for-profit nursing homes operating in Blaine County, Oklahoma, during that time.

According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, the country’s older adult population is growing while the population of younger age groups declines. Between 2020 and 2024, those age 65 and older increased by 13%, while the number of Americans under 18 decreased by 1.7%. The nation’s older adult population has expanded significantly over the past 100 years, rising from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

A 2021 study found that almost 50% of this population—about 28 million people—are likely to require long-term services and supports, with projections indicating a third may need nursing home care over time.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” said Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
