Top-seeded duo of Tomas Almeida/Thomas Cardona of Cameron finished runner-up in the ITA Division II Men's South Central Regional Championship on Saturday at the Weeks Park Tennis Center hosted by Midwestern State.
Almeida/Cardona faced the second-seeded team of Joaquin Bianchi/Gonzalo Fernandez from UT Tyler, dropping the match 4-6, 6-3, 8-10. The Aggie squad must wait and see if they receive an at-large bid for the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga., on Oct. 12-16.
The Black-and-Gold's next tournament will be the MSU Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Oct. 14-15.
