Cameron men's golf's two teams are led by Chris Somerfield and Cole Luber at the Midwestern State Invitational on Monday at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
Somerfield is currently tied for 11th place after a day one total of 71-70—141, for -1 at the par 71, 6882-yard course. Luber, leading Cameron's B team, had a card of 74-66—140 on day one to be tied for eighth place.
Hamish Murray is tied for 16th after shooting a 74-68—142, Joey Kirk recorded a two-round score of 74-70—144 and is tied for 25th place, and Trevor Mierl and Preston Holmes round out the CU A team tied for 35th. Mierl shot a 71-74—145, and Holmes carded a 75-70—145.
For the Aggies' second team, Carson Wright shot a 72-72—144, which has him tied for 25th place, and Ethan Parker and Zachary Siaca are tied for 62nd. Parker recorded a 78-72—150, Siaca shot 74-76—150, and Hunter Drotts carded a 77-74—151 to finish the first day tied for 69th.
Cameron is tied for sixth place after shooting 290-278—568, while Cameron B is tied for 10th with a day one total of 297-284—581.
Midland CC leads the field after recording a score of 287-273—560. Midland's Chris Wardrup, Texas A&M International's Mauricio Figueroa, and Colorado State-Pueblo's Jamie Roberts are knotted atop the leaderboard with a score of -8 through two rounds.
