Southeastern played stifling defense against league-leading Southern Nazarene but was unable to capitalize with a 2-of-11 shooting effort in the fourth quarter of a 47-43 loss on Wednesday night in Bloomer Sullivan Arena.
 
The loss drops the Savage Storm to 4-10 overall on the year and 2-7 in Great American Conference play heading into a road matchup against Southwestern Oklahoma State at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Weatherford, Okla.
 
SE held the Crimson Storm to a 24.5 percent shooting effort and forced 17 turnovers on the defensive side of the ball despite missing a pair of starters from the lineup and seeing Briley Moon end her night early.
 
Caitlin Kobiske poured in 25 points to lead all scorers, hitting 6-of-11 form the field and 13-of-16 at the free throw line. She just missed a double-double with a team-best nine rebounds
 
Grace Alverson was next in line with seven points and Abbie Barr turned in six after earning the start.
 
Barr and Lauren Beason each grabbed five rebounds as well, with Southeastern matching SNU on the glass with 39 total boards.
 
Southeastern owned the first quarter, hitting 45.5 percent from the field on the way to a 12-6 lead with Kobiske scoring nine of those points.
 
The Crimson Storm responded with its best shooting quarter of the game, hitting 38.5 percent while SE was 2-of-9 from the field and SNU would take a 22-17 lead at the half.
 
The third quarter deficit would reach seven points before an 8-0 Storm run over the final 2:10 would give Southeastern a 32-31 lead heading to the final quarter.
 
SNU would regain the lead early in the fourth, but the SE would respond and take a 38-37 lead with 3:22 to play, but a pair of Crimson Storm free throws with 3:06 remaining would give SNU the lead back for good.
 
Southeastern would close the gap to 42-41 on a Kobiske free throw with 1:19 to play, but that was as close as it would get as SNU would swipe the 47-43 final score.
