Cameron rebounds in the second round of the Rattler Invitational, improving by eight strokes to move up three spots in the standing heading into the final round at the Dominion Country Club.
The Aggies turned in a scorecard of 301-293—594 to have a two-stroke advantage over the host St. Mary's for second place. Dallas Baptist leads after the first day with a 588. Sangha Park of UT Permian Basin leads the field with a 70-68—138, shooting -6 through two rounds.
Hunter Drotts tallied a 73-71—144 to be tied for fifth place, Hamish Murray is tied for ninth place after carding a 75-73—148, and Chris Somerfield is tied for 15th after shooting a 76-75—151.
Preston Holmes and Trevor Mierl are tied for 32nd place. Holmes shot 80-74—154, while Mierl scored 77-77—154.
Cameron made the most birdies on the first day, with 27. Drotts made two eagles with six birdies, Mierl and Murray dropped in six birdies, Somerfield collected five, and Holmes made four.
The Black-and-Gold had the third-most pars with 104, led by Somerfield with 24, Murray connected on 22, and Holmes made 21.
Participating as individuals were Zachary Siaca and Joey Kirk. Siaca is tied for 32nd with a two-round score of 78-76—154, while Kirk scored 77-80—157 to be tied for 46th.
Siaca made three birdies, and Kirk hit two during the first day.
