7% of Washita County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Washita County recorded an unemployment rate of 7% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 364 people out of the 11,014 living in Washita County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Washita County has increased compared to the 5.7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Washita County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 5%.

Of the 4,864 people who had a job during that time, 17 were employed in the Armed Forces and 4,847 belonged to the civilian labor force.
