Western Oklahoma State College National Hispanic Heritage Month Meet Alexis Salazar

0Comments

It is National Hispanic Heritage Month! Western’s Hispanic Student Association will be featuring a weekly student spotlight, throughout the month!

Meet Alexis Salazar

Hometown: Altus, OK

Major: Behavioral Science

Why Western? I want to get my basics done here rather than at a four-year university.

Activities at Western:  Student Senate, Rotary, Hispanic Student Club, Science Club, WINDS, Pioneer Pride, and  Intramural Sports

Favorite thing about your culture: My favorite thing about my culture is the music and food. The music is very upbeat and the food is delicious.

What does Hispanic Heritage month mean to you? It means that our culture gets recognized and celebrated across the world. Other people can see different aspects of our culture and how different it is compared to other cultures. It means a lot to me for others to celebrate our culture with us.
